Part 7 Letter to Lalanu

Dearest sister,

It is with deep concern that I pen this letter to you. I look to you as my mentor and role model. As newly appointed High Priestess of our order, I bow to your wisdom and knowlege as the former leader of the Knight's of Phoenix Clerics. I ponder this mysterious child Deamentia.

The child... Ah... The memories that flood my mind at seeing her almost overwhem me. It was many years past that my kindness to a dark elven girl caused me to come to the Knight's of Phoenix in the first place. Although I count it a blessing now, the memories of death, betrayal and heartache still haunt my dreams.

Now I wonder... Though it is our way to show kindness and compassion to all who are in need, are we doing the right thing in allowing one such as her in our midst? Already she seems to have woven a spell over our beloved Amchan. Will our kindness betray us as did mine so long ago?

I seek your council in this dearest sister for my heart is too close to the matter to think objectively. I watch and observe. My duty to the Knight's of Phoenix comes first. If it comes to a choice between the the well being of the Knight's and the well being of this dark child, the choice would be clear. Yet I would not want to damm the child because of the memories that still haunt me.

Your humble servant

Sobana

Part 8: Deamentia's Diary

<<TRANSLATED FROM TIER`DAL TO COMMON TONGUE>>

Amchan told me to keep a diary. He said it will make me feel better.

Daddy is mad that I’m gone. He keeps telling me he’s going to find me. I’m very scared of daddy. He got mad at me when I ran the first time. Then he made me eat Amchan’s friend when they tried to help me. I don’t want to eat Amchan’s friends anymore. They are very evil to me! They play games with me and read me stories. Most of the stories are dumb, but they make me laugh because they are not real! I hate them very much!

Amchan got mad at me the other night. I was very hungry and almost ate Archel. Her friends punished me. I was very sad. Amchan fed me later with his blood and I am better now! He is very evil to me. I hate him. I hope he will be my daddy someday. I love my other daddy. I wish he’d go away.

Deamentia

Part Nine - Archel's fears realized

Now I know it is this child causing Amchan his ailment, what I must speak of next is greatly disturbing to me, but must be thought of now. It was two nights ago as I cared for the young Deamentia -as the dark elf child is called - I had just completed relating a story that I had hoped would contribute to her religious training and was preparing the child for her rest. She had almost squirmed when I told of the gods of light - how they created us and made all the goodness that is on this earth. By the time I had finished, she only stared at me with those red eyes that sometimes glow with intensity. As I opened the door to escort her out, she leapt at me, caught me unawares in the shadowy corridor and...gashed my arm with her claws. I shook her off me, she did not attack, but seemed frightened and hid her face from me. Amchan had told me this hunger for blood was not the child's will but the will of Mistmoor who we stole her from, yet as a holy knight I cannot be prey to such things. As she licked my blood from her claws, Amchan came, he stood still, understanding what had happened and was very pale as he wrapped my hurt arm. Others had heard the disturbance, but they held back from us, they were horrified I am sure and cried out at the child in anger. Deamentia hid her head once more, but she willingly went with Amchan. I followed, they were not going to the child's resting place and I was deeply dreading what may happen next. I crept silently to Amchan's door and looked through, they were both there sitting on the edge of his bed, I bared my teeth and shuddered in revulsion - she was consuming his blood! I walked away shaken to know now how enraptured Amchan was with the child...so protective of her that he would feed her with his life's blood. This cannot bode well.

Part X: A meeting held by Agantis.

A meeting was held today in the castle's secret room, whose location is known only to the Officers. Agantis begins to speak.

"Fellow brothers and sisters, I'm sure you all know why I've summoned you this eve. Every night that Demon child of Amchan's disturbs our peace, and I will not allow this. Daily there are an increasing number of reports that she has been lusting for our blood. I myself have caught her sneaking up to me, mouth wide open, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Such behavior will NOT be tolerated. Since our brother Amchan brought this child here he has done nothing but grow more distant from us. He locks himself in his room refuses to eat, and can hardly feign his death.. (ooc: you know what I'm talking about ;p )"

Debranna rises, "Agantis, allow me to speak. I am well aware of these 'attacks' from the child, but I am also informed that she has been cursed from Mistmoore himself? I do not believe this child to be ill tempered and violent, yet a soft soul cursed by the damned one. The victim of her latest 'attack' was Archel, who would like to speak."

Debranna wields the floor to Archel, who smiles. "I know you speak only for our well being, brother, but I must share this with you. It is true, Debranna, that Deamentia must consume blood only because of that curse. I do not see her as a threat to us, but I do see a reason not to welcome her warmly. However, we must cure her of this damnation. I for one could not live with myself if we let this young child's life rot this way. I implore the rest of you to understand her situation, and seek out any and all help you can with this dilemma.. Amchan seems so dedicated to her, and I believe he may have fair reason to be. After all, he is our brother whom I trust dearly."

Agantis' face seems a bit sour, for everyone but he seems to agree with Archel. Suddenly, a petrifying yell is let loose. Then, almost simultaneously, "Amchan!"

Part XI : A letter to Sobana

Dearest sister,
All tho this child's actions disturb me in the highest form I must insist that in order to be objective that you look to the KCoH, it is here that all of us can take guidence from. I quote from it here.

A Knight's Heart Contains Only Virtue

You shall always be the champion of that which is Right and Good and the foe of Evil and Injustice.

A Knight's Steel Defends the Weak

You shall come to the aid of those weaker than yourself

A Knight's Actions Defend the Innocent

You shall come to the aide of innocent victims

There are many things we dont know about this child, but a child she is and MUST be protected, for a child is true innocense. What unjust actions have been taken up against her Tunare only knows, she is like a onion with many layers to her being. AS clerics its our Duty and our honor to help the weak and heal the inflicted. I shall consult the ancient texts of Tunare and pay this child a visit my-self to assist where I can.

Part XII From the pages of Lalanu's Journal

I've spent the last few days in the Temple in Felwithe in study of the ancient texts, some of which the pages were so frail that they felt as if they would wither in my gentle grasp. The elders have written alot of curses and such some of which I strained to understand as the writings were in Elder Dragon, I thank Tunare that on the many eve I took the time to study such arcain and acient languages.

There is much more I still need to read and I have found several referances to a child of Mistmoore, I shall pay this child a visit this eve and see for myself what her soul contains, I will stop by the kitchen first and take her some freshly slaughtered meat uncooked so that her focus will be on our visit and not on her thirst for blood.

Nervously speaks up..

She clears her throat and begins to speak,

" I must confess, I find the child's actions quite.. absurd. In light of what M'lady Debranna has shared with us, of the curse, I must also agree with what a few have said. She is a child, she is under a curse. But perhaps let us not take things lightly, Curse or not. She's dangerous. If you wish to blame it on the curse, perhaps that is what she is hoping. A carefully thought through plan to gain trust, and kinship. Perhaps Agantis is right in his thinking. She may be a follower of Mistmoor, and working for him. Cursed only because she needed a cover and an excuse. If we are to evalute the situation let us not forget to examine all options. Please do not take me wrong. I have found much entertainment as I watch Deamentia, and I have found a friend in her as well. But friend or not, if the vampiress is dangerous, she should not be kept too close until we have this situation figured out. Examine ALL options once again. Perhaps guilt drives Amchan into his room, or embarassment to know he lets this creature run rampant. I have said my piece I will refrain from saying more."

With this Adiyra sighs and sweeps away, into the corner of the room, taking a solitary seat on the floor against the wall.

Ok, Whats going on?

I feel all of a sudden subdued by the fact that my precious family is going through a dangerous and yet mysterious hardship. I do not know of this Amchan, or Daementia, but I pray to Tunare that this too shall pass, or that she gives me the strength to aid you in your "battle." Will someone respond to my letter, for it of utmost importance that I know, dont worry, I cannot be tainted as it seems Archel was. Of that I can assure you. Agantis you held a meeting on the matter, so it is you that I ask respond to this rather humble letter, let me know whats going on and how I can aid you.

Hard Times

Much as it pains me to see, our fellowship is divided in this matter of the child of Mistmoor. I too am a part of this, dealing in this darkness and secrecy, we must act together here, yet I have sworn to remain a silent player. Difficult as it is, it seems I must cast aside what I know is right...for the honoring of my brother's promise. I am not sure what the cost will be of this steadfastness, maybe a brace of friends...maybe my life. Oh Marr what am I to do now. – Archel

A letter to Gyrfalcon Phoenixwing

Greetings old friend.

It is with great sorrow that I share with you this information provided in my letter. A great plague has broken amongst us, in the form of a child. Stolen from Mistmoore himself, she was accursed with the craving for blood.. I find this child most displeasing to me. She attacks my brothers and sisters, and seems to have a personal vendetta against me. I know not why, she does not hear me speak of her.. Perhaps she knows my thoughts, in which case she is a more dangerous foe than even I imagined. I pray with thee brother: Come back to us, yet do not allow this predator to do to you as she's done to us. Your humble friend,

Agantis Phoenixknight
