The Distant Past...

Shandryll's true origins are surrounded in mystery, but are currently being uncovered in the ongoing roleplaying story called Nefaria's Revenge.

A Young Shandryll

What we know...

Shandryll was born in Kelethin to loving parents, Mordin and Katrena Spiritwind and was raised with her twin sister, Maylana. Shandryll's father died under circumstances unknown to the twins until the day of their mother's death, but we'll get to that later.

The twins in their younger years

Shandryll's mother was a bardess and Maylana followed very quickly in her footsteps. Maylana had a natural rhythm and a beautiful voice that Shandryll didn't seem to possess, although... she could still hold a tune pleasing enough to the ear. Shandryll's father had been a ranger and Shandryll spent long days watching the wood elf rangers train and practice both their fighting and magic skills, aching for the father she would never know.

Shandryll was still very young when she encountered her first druid. She was helping her mother in the garden one fine day, when a band of orcs came from the trees and attacked her mother while shouting something about ruining their lands. Katrena was unarmed and fought them off as best she could with her songs, but she was quickly losing the battle. One of the orcs raised his club and hit Katrena swiftly in the back of the head, knocking her unconscious as Shandryll hid behind a nearby tree. The orcs began to descend on Shandryll as a young, handsome druid stepped out of the shadows. He first healed her mother, who stood and resumed the fight, then added his own barrage of powerful spells to aid in the combat. Shandryll had never seen anything like it. She was mezmerized by the abilities this druid possessed. Not only was he able to help her mother, but he was also able to strike at them with both magic and his weapon.

After the orcs were slain, Shandryll came out from behind her tree and kneeled before the druid, who laughed, reached down to place his hand under her chin, and raised her to her feet. He looked deeply into her eyes and said, "Dear child... I am not a god, please do not bow to me. My name is Neaadan Lupinespirit." Shandryll told him that she wanted to learn his ways... to be able to help people the way he was able to. Katrena smiled knowing Shandryll had found her calling.

Neaadan Lupinespirit

Neaadan met with Shandryll and helped her on her way to becoming a druid. He taught her the ways of Tunare and helped hone her fighting skills until she was ready and able to start out into the world on her own. Neaadan had gained much in power and ability during their training. He had achieved the 24th season and gained the ability to release the wolf inside him, so Shandryll began to call him the Master Wolf which changed in time to the Master Dog... something she still calls him to this day.

Early in her druid life, Shandryll's cousin Rayella introduced her to her first real friend and sister, Aenelilae. They have since had many adventures together and have grown nothing but closer. A high elf and a wood elf. Shandryll never thought it possible, but she was to learn there was more possible then she could have ever imagined...

The Less Distant Past?

Ahhh... what would a story be without a fairy tale? After a heartbreak or two, Shandryll had given up on love and decided to live out the role as the lone druid, but fate was to throw her a curveball. While Shandryll was hunting solo in East Karana, she came across a human monk by the name of Kenzo. They hunted in East Karana for a few days and quickly learned to work well together. Shandryll was afraid to get too close to Kenzo, so she remained fairly cold to him for quite awhile when secretly she was falling for his charms.

Shandryll knew that being involved with a human would not go over well with the wood elves, but it didn't take long until none of that mattered anymore. With a heartfelt apology and tears in her eyes, she told Kenzo the truth and to her surprize, he hadn't given up on her and expressed his feelings for her as well. Shandryll's mother was very understanding as she judged people from her heart. She looked past his human shell and seeing the good in Kenzo, she gave Shandryll her blessings.

Although he isn't able to be around as much as she would like, when he is... they are inseperable.

East Karana would prove to be a very interesting place for Shandryll, for it was the first place she was exposed to... evil. Although leery, she began hunting with a dark elf necromancer named Dazrena who would become a long time hunting partner and sister.

She also met a very charming dark elf necromancer named Slar. Her mother had always taught her that when meeting people to first pay attention to her heart rather then her eyes and thanks to her mother's wise words, she made a very strong connection with Slar. Dark elves had always scared her, but Slar put her at ease. She felt safe with him and they have grown to love each other as brother and sister.

But the most evil... Deamentia... the vampire child. She had been so leery of her in the beginning, but she actually got the chance to meet and hunt with her in East Karana. Shandryll quickly learned to trust Deamentia with her life and they soon became sisters as well.

Evil would take on quite a new concept for Shandryll as those she was supposed to consider evil, quickly became her friends and family.

The More Recent Past...

One day while hunting in Frontier Mountians, a kind ranger stopped to help Shandryll dispatch of a rather difficult giant. When the battle was over, Shandryll thanked him kindly and noticed that he looked very familiar. He bowed and introduced himself as Tillamook Spiritwind. Shandryll was sure he noticed as her jaw dropped to the ground. He bore a striking resemblance to... her father! Maylana has yet to meet him, but Shandryll is sure that Tillamook is their long lost brother.

As time went on, Shandryll found herself becoming closer to two more high elves, Jharis and Shaiya. They had many adventures together and lots of fun times. Shandryll sat in the audience the day they got married and watched, smiling through her tears of joy. They had always been there for her and she got the chance to be there for them that day. She had never been more happy for two people... or more proud.

Many were there the day Shandryll received word from her sister that her mother was dying. Shandryll quickly returned to the family home in Kelethin and watched as her mother died before her very eyes. As Katrena lay gasping on her deathbed, she unraveled a tale almost too unbelievable for the twins. They had a triplet... a dark elf sister that had been stolen the night of her birth... a sister Shandryll and Maylana's father had died trying to retrieve from the forboding forests of Neriak. Shandryll and Maylana are currently trying to unravel the mystery behind this dark elf sister and will find out more than they bargained for in Nefaria's Revenge. Come help us play out the story!
